A reasonable start yesterday, and a reasonable finish BUT the 2 in the middle were a big disappointment.
-6.24 pts on the day
Running total -4.74
Tip: Keep an eye out for Henry Candy runners who seems to be running into a bit of form with 2 placed runners yesterday at 10/1 and 12/1.
2nd @ 2/1 - Bin End, beaten just a length into fourth in a competitive handicap on his return to action at York the previous week, was also held up early and followed the winner through as he edged closer passing the 3f pole. He had every chance and looked likely to score, but found his rival much more determined and didn´t seem to be putting it all in from the furlong pole. Perhaps this quirky track wasn´t to his liking, but like the winner he is also due to go up another 2lb and has a few questions to answer now. - racingPost
Airedale Lad kept tabs on the leader but stopped to nothing on the home turn before stamina had become a real issue. - racingPost
Crimson Fern, beaten a whisker in a Bath fillies´ Listed event last time and 3lb lower than when last in a handicap, was up with the pace from the start but she was a bit too keen and probably did too much too soon. - racingPost
2nd @ 12/1 - North Cape was steadily progressive in maidens. He maintained his momentum when chasing home two last-time-out winners over 8.5f at Nottingham last time and put in another decent effort over this stiffer test. - racingPost
BE LUCKY!!
