racingPost - Coe was rated 128 over hurdles, the same as today's winner, but he made a mistake at the second fence and his rider dropped his whip, which was obviously far from ideal for a chasing debutant. He can do better back over further on easier ground.

racingPost - Naiad Du Misselot, last year's Coral Cup winner, ran a huge race on his chasing debut. Racing on ground quicker than his trainer considered ideal, he made a bad mistake early on, but quickly recovered and travelled as well as anything. He looked the likeliest winner approaching the last, and produced a better jump there than Rightway Star, but he was ultimately just run out of it. He had reportedly done plenty of work, but he can still be expected to come on for this and he looks a smart recruit to chasing.
