A great start to the Golf thread with Kenny Perry winning his third event of the season, all of which have come in the last 5 tournaments, an amazing run of form.
PERRY HAILS BEST YEAR
Kenny Perry, the American star who has turned down a place in The Open this coming week, hailed his "best year ever" after taking his third win in seven weeks last night.
The win was Perry's third of the season, all of which have come in his last five events. His run started with a win at The Memorial and he also won his last start, the Buick Open.
"It's been a great run - I've never had a run like this," Perry said.
"I guess that gives me three firsts, a second and a third - definitely by far my best year ever at 47.
"I guess 47 is now the new 30." - sportinglife.com

LETS HOPE IT CONTINUES!!
boylesports are offering ¼ odds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 for The Open as well as a fantastic special for the third major of the season:
British Open, Royal Birkdale, 17 - 20 July 2008.
Boylesports will refund all losing single bets on The British Open outright market, if Padraig Harrington or Sergio Garcia win this years tournament.
BET365 are paying SIX PLACES at 1/4 odds on The 2008 Open Championship!
With no Tiger Woods in the field, anything can happen at Royal Birkdale – so make sure you’re getting the best each-way value when you place your bet.
Pádraig Harrington ended the eight year wait for a European winner in 2007 and the likes of Sergio Garcia, Justin Rose and Lee Westwood will be looking to emulate the Irishman’s success this time around.
My big hope for this weeks tournament is Trevor Immelman, who if turning up with his ‘A’ game has every chance of winning this.
1.5pt win Trevor Immelman @ 70/1.
1.5pts win Miguel Angel Jimenez at 40/1.
0.5pt e/w Boo Weekley at 100/1.
1pt win Justin Leonard @ 50/1.
1pt win Jim Furyk at 25/1.
GOOD LUCK!!
