Best Bets of the Day!!
PUNCHESTOWN - DAY 3
Follows later.
Yesterdays roundup:
Another 2 winners for Ruby Walsh and Willie Mullins, and a 3rd placing as well.
4.20 COFFEE TEA OR ME
Coffee Tea Or Me looks a good ground horse and never got involved - racingPost
4.55 PALACE MERANO
Hat-trick seeking Palace Merano ran no race at all and was found to be clinically abnormal post race - racingPost
6.40 J'Y VOLE - 1st @ 5/1
7.15 JAYO - - 1st @ 5/4
5.30 DUNGUIB
A top-class horse who put on an awesome display, if he can jump hurdles there´s nothing standing in the way of him going right to the top - racingPost.
SICILIAN SECRET - 5th
Sicilian Secret showed enough here and when winning his bumper that there´s plenty to look forward to next season - racingPost.
UNIVERSAL TRUTH - 4th
Universal Truth came here unbeaten but is another horse for whom better ground would be far more suitable - racingPost
6.05 NOTRE PERE - 1st @ 15/8
IMPERIAL COMMANDER
Doubts about the trip were always going to be the case with Imperial Commander especially on this sort of ground - racingPost

Best Bets of the Day!!
Well Ruby had 2 winners and a 4th placing on the first day of Punchestown.
COOLDINE was very disappointing but was obviously over the top after a long season.
HURRICANE FLY on the other hand was a fresh horse,a most impressive winner and obviously a lack of a prep run was not a problem.
This horse is destined for the top and has been backed into favouritism for the CHAMPION HURDLE at Cheltenham.
Trainer Willie Mullins said of the horse,
"I think we will concentrate on Cheltenham and the Champion Hurdle next year, and I might just put him away now.
I couldn't believe how well he worked (before Punchestown). Coming back off a troubled preparation like that we were bit worried if he would be right, but he has come back better than he ever was before."
MASTER MINDED did indeed win, but not by much. Maybe his odds will drift a little for the Queen Mother chase at Cheltenham.
PUNCHESTOWN - Day 2
I am staying with Ruby and Willy Mullins today and they appear to have 3 or 4 decent e/w chances.
4.20 COFFEE TEA OR ME
4.55 PALACE MERANO
6.40 J'Y VOLE
7.15 JAYO
6 x 1pt e/w doubles.
5.30 DUNGUIB won the Cheltenham bumper and has been awarded the highest rating ever for a Bumper horse, higher even than that awarded to COUSIN VINNY who won both races last year.
But at the odds it may be worth backing SICILIAN SECRET and UNIVERSAL TRUTH e/w.
6.05 NOTRE PERE looks to have a good chance in the soft going, along with IMPERIAL COMMANDER whose trainer says 'we go here confidently expecting a big run'.
BE LUCKY!!

Best Bets of the Day!!
PUNCHESTOWN - Day 1
The ground is Soft, winter ground according to the Clerk of the Course.
Ruby Walsh will no doubt be top jockey with rides supplied by both the English and Irish champion trainers.
A lot of horses will be over the top after a long season and are likely to run below par.
Willy Mullins always targets the meeting and COOLDINE in the 6.40 is his likeliest winner.
MASTER MINDED should win the 6.05 as he is the best horse by far, but at odds of 1/3 is too short for me to get involved.
In the 4.20 HURRICANE FLY, a real superstar in the making, would have been of interest BUT may well need the run according to Mullins, so at the short price is passed over.
So 2 or 3 winners on the first day should get Ruby off to a great start.
BE LUCKY!!

HORSES TO FOLLOW
McCoy fancies his chances on HENNESSY in this, so at 11/1 a small win bet seems reasonable to me.
Well Tony McCoy was right on the button today with a superb winning ride.
A couple of horses to be added to the 'To Follow list':
TARTAN BEARER
TASHEBA
This week we have the PUNCHESTOWN festival starting on Tuesday, with some really classy runners competing.
Willie Mullins runs some of his Cheltenham superstars like QUEVEGA and COOLDINE, and Paul Nicholls has supplemented MASTER MINDED, so we should have a few days of superb racing to look forward to.
Until tomorrow, Be Lucky!!

Best Bets of the Day!!
Well it's the last day of the jumps season today and needless to say AP McCoy is once again champion jockey.
An amazing bloke and athlete imo.
Today McCoy fancies his chances on NISSAL in the 1.00 to give him his first winner of the day. If he is right, a nice 3/1 winner will set the day up nicely for us.
In the 2.35 KALAHARI KING has to be the choice on Good/Fast ground. I am convinced he would have won the Arkle on better ground.
The Bet365 Hcp Chase at 3.10 is a very open race and many can be given a chance.
McCoy fancies his chances on HENNESSY in this, so at 11/1 a small win bet seems reasonable to me.
Ruby Walsh fancies his chances on HOO LA BALLOO, who has been trained for the race, so again a small win bet for me at 6/1.
In the 5.30 at Kilbeggan, LAYDE BACK from the Willie Mullins yard is Ruby Walsh's tip of the day.
A worrying stat for anyone fancying any of the Pipe stable runners:
David Pipe's recent record of one winner from 50+ runners is a definite worry imo!!
Thats it for today, Be Lucky!!
