GOLF LAYing system

Rather than trying to pick the winner from a field of top golfers, this system selects golfers to NOT win the tournament.

The goal is to WIN £10,000 over the season.

BOB HOPE Classic

LAY PAT PEREZ

£225.00 @ 5.0

Liability £900

Starting Bank £10,000

Current Bank £9,150

Pat Perez scored 61 and 63 in his opening 2 rounds in this tournament on the EASIEST two of the 4 courses being played.

His 3rd round 67 leaves him 2 in front with 2 rounds to play.

Today he again plays one of the difficult courses and may find it hard to maintain the lead, as his closest opponent is playing one of the easier courses and should outscore Perez.

If Perez drifts out in price but is still in contention tomorrow I may well back him back at a bigger price to guarantee a profit, as the final round is played on the easiest of the courses.

Be Lucky!!

LAY GEOFF OGILVY

Surely lightning can't strike twice!!

I am going to start LAYing favorites at the start of the tournament as well, to spread the risk.

A one player LAYing book doesn't seem to be the best of strategies, although last week there was a very small field which made it easier to win from the front.

The System will develop over the year and if an opportunity arises to trade out for a guaranteed profit I will be taking it.

Just remember, You will never go broke by taking a profit!!

Be Lucky!!

Horses to Follow

Sorry, have other commitments at the moment so not getting a lot of time to post:

For those that do not have MAD MAX and PLANET OF SOUND on their lists it's time to add them.

Though just a warning short term on MAD MAX as the Racing Post reported:

He is now due to have a minor breathing operation, which he has had in the past, as he came back after the race making a noise and will now have a fortnight off, but he still hopes to have one more run before the festival in March.

Even so MAD MAX has been shortened up for both the BALLYMORE PROPERTIES and SUPREME NOVICES hurdle races at Cheltenham, BUT from what I have read he is a very big horse, 17 hands, and the undulations of Cheltenham may not suit, that plus the breathing op mean I won't be investing ante-post at this point.

PLANET OF SOUND
29 dec: won at Newbury, looks decent prospect for handicaps especially on this track, which seems to suit him.

MAD MAX
Has won a hurdle race and two NH flat races at 2m and 2m 3f on ground varying from good to soft. Won last time out over hurdles at Ascot over 2m 3f (good) in November, beating Karabak by 1l.

A new kid on the block, and definitely one for the list is OPTIMUS MAXIMUS who according to the RacingPost:

Raced prominently before making his move from the top of the home straight and it was his jumping over the final four flights which proved decisive.

As well as sharing the same sire, GALLILEO, as this years Derby winner (NEW APPROACH) the winner is also a half-brother on the dam side to former smart hurdler-chaser Albuhera, so is bred to make his mark in this sphere.

Horses to Follow

A few horses that need to be dropped from our list as they have proved disappointing so far.

BLACK JACARI is not running to the level expected.

NAIAD DU MISSELOT is not taking to fences at all even though he was superb over hurdles.

BIGFELLATHANKS is another whose jumping is letting him down.

Those 3 horses have been removed from the list.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ALARM BELLS RINGING

CRACK AWAY JACK does not look like winning at the top level over hurdles and may go over fences as he is unlikely to be good enough to win a Champion hurdle.

EBAZIYAN is proving a difficult horse to win with, sometimes at prohibitive odds.
I will give him one more chance next time out IF the ground is good and he goes off at decent odds. i.e. Not Odds-on, as has won only once in 11 races since March 2007.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CALGARY BAY is a horse to be added to our list over 2m4f.

I read the horse is being aimed at the ARKLE at Cheltenham which is a 2 mile race and it is doubtful he will have the speed to win that. The reason he is being aimed at the ARKLE is because there is no 2.5 mile championship race at the meeting.
There is however a 2.5 mile race at AINTREE for him.

WALKON is being aimed at the TRIUMPH hurdle and should be added to our list. He finished 2nd to the current favorite ZAYNAR carrying a 7lb penalty and they will meet in the TRIUMPH at level weights.

BE LUCKY!!

Horses to Follow

Another 2 horses it should prove profitable to follow this NH season are the Willie Mullins trained JAYO and MIKAEL D'HAGUENET; although I wouldn't be rushing in to back them ante-post for the Cheltenham festival yet:

JAYO

racingPost - An effortless win for JAYO who continued his rate of progression in no uncertain terms dropping down to the minimum trip for his fourth outing over fences.

"I don't think the ground really bothers him at all, he'll go on anything." - trainer Willie Mullins

MIKAEL D'HAGUENET

racingPost - According to the winning rider after this impressive performance, the French import is a machine. And who is to argue?

As regards Cheltenham, if the ground comes up quick we probably won't bring him - trainer Willie Mullins
